We have started construction of the six-story residential building at 833 Bryant St.! We will continue to send out monthly newsletters with updates on progress and upcoming construction milestones, as well as occasional bulletins to inform you of a specific activity that may have an immediate noise or traffic impact. As is the case with any construction project, the schedule is subject to change due to unforeseen and weather conditions, but we wish to keep you updated on the major activities. We will endeavor to mitigate the impacts construction may cause to your community. We look forward to a successful project both for the SoMa community and the City of San Francisco. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Upcoming Activities: May 2021

May 4, 2021 833 Bryant

The period for setting factory-built housing modules has been set to begin Sunday May 2nd. In preparation of setting the modular units, the mobile cranes have been set up on site and will remain there until all the modules are set into place.  The set will occur each evening, Sunday to Friday morning, from approximately 10pm to 6am each night. The SFMTA have let us know that they will not approve setting to start at 10 p.m. on nights when SF Giants games are in town.  Therefore, setting will start the earliest 12:00 A.M. on nights when the SF Giants games are in town.  Trucks will be present on Stevenson St during these periods to deliver the mods. We will still be working normal daytime hours during the workweek as well.

Utility work will continue at the intersection of 6th St and Jessie St and the south side of Jessie St. The work will be performed during the daytime through the end of May. This will involve a small excavator excavating a trench along Jessie St, Monday to Friday. The utility contractor will gladly relocate any construction vehicles or equipment in order for local traffic to proceed through. All excavation locations will be covered with plates while the work is not being performed.

  • Throughout the month there will be material deliveries. We will stay within the permitted traffic lanes for these deliveries.
  • We will be performing work on the exterior scaffolding throughout the month, which will produce general construction noise.
  • We will be removing scaffolding on the South elevation (opposite of Bryant St., behind building) the week of 4/19. This will require a flatbed truck staged on Harriet St. to offload the scaffolding.
  • We will be beginning excavation of utility work behind the building (opposite of Bryant St.) at the end of the month, which may require some trucks to stage and exit on Harriet St.

Our typical work day is 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. We will endeavor to minimize noisier work until after 7:30 a.m. as much as possible. Construction activities will not normally occur on weekends, holidays, or during overnight hours, however, it may occasionally be necessary to work during those hours. In those instances, we will provide advance notice via e-mail newsletter and the weekend work would take place between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

We have a street space permit that is valid for 24 hours/ 7 days a week to occupy the parking lane on Bryant Street. This is required for staging materials, setting up equipment, delivery trucks, dumpster, etc. Parking will not be available along these street frontages for the duration of construction.
